'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the thrilling final moments of Swansea's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game ended with Galbraith picking up a supporter's spectacles after the on-field celebration.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a speculative effort from outside the box, and his teammate quickly converted the rebound before racing off toward the home end to mark the goal, with the crowd swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

This completed an unbelievable recovery given the Welsh side had been behind 2-0 during the latter period. In the celebrations, there was some collateral damage. The midfielder recalled, "There was a fan shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The result earned a upcoming fixture at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. The athletic midfielder had arguably the best view when the underdogs took the lead in remarkable manner, with Jamie Donley's volley from about 45 yards going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. It feels criminal that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for taking the effort on from that distance," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before shifting to right wing-back after Orient changed formation. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the Manchester squad who complimented the way his former team attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Athletically they are very good but even the simple things and simple things, they can just do it over and over again," Galbraith says. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they know how to control and neutralize a game. You can feel you're doing well and then without warning they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It takes a tough attitude and concentration just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

Swansea pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a fans' favourite across two seasons at Orient and has swiftly replicated that in Wales. At the London club he reunited with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a loan at League Two the Manchester club, before he departed Manchester United.

Learning Curve

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it seems possession is exchanged without much intensity. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that growth for his team and nation, excelling for his national side, who could still reach the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the last several matches, including two matches encounters against a football powerhouse. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This represents a remarkable path for the youngster from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who used to see his father, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for a local club.

Manchester United Experience

His only game for United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was closed owing to conditions of bitter cold. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he recalls, chuckling. "The week before, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to join the main group and get a couple of minutes at the end was incredible."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "It was quite easy, because I got to the stage where I realized I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I felt I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

New Environment

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called player transport, a minibus driven by academy staff, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to socialize with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the following person to stop using the bus and on the road. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

During his time at his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on public transport after beginning his trip at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
